Eldar is originally from Russia, but on his father’s side he has Azerbaijani roots. He began dancing at the age of 12 under the guidance of Russian coaches. At the same time, he studied at a music school and achieved great success in this field.
After school, Eldar passed the entrance exams to the International University of Economics and Law in Tyumen. Eldar won the Ural and Siberian championships among juniors and youth five times, and was also a finalist in many championships in Russia.
When the time came for Eldar to make a choice regarding his future path, he decided that dancing was what he wanted to do professionally for the rest of his life. Eldar then moved to Italy to study ballroom dancing under the tutelage of Caterina Arzenton and Gerry Abrate. After six months of hard training, he made it to the finals of the Blackpool Festival. Eldar's success came as a big surprise to the dance world. Eldar Dzhafarov and Anna Sazhina became the first couple representing Azerbaijan to reach the finals at such a prestigious dance tournament. Together with his partner, and now wife Anna Sazhina, Eldar successfully continues his career as a dancer and coach.

Eldar is originally from Russia, but has an Azerbaijan background from his father’s side. He started to dance when he was twelve under the supervision of Russian coaches. At the same time he was also attending a music school and was very successful in that field.
After school Eldar passed entrance exams to the International University of Economics and Law in Tymen (Siberia). He also won Ural and Siberia championships five times as Junior and Youth and made it into the Finals in Russian National Championships.
There came a time for Eldar to make a choice for his future path and he decided that dancing was what he would like to do professionally for the rest of his life. Eldar then moved to Italy to study Ballroom under the guidance of Caterina Arzenton and Latin with Jerry Abrate. After half a year of hard practicing, he made it into the Final in the Blackpool Festival.Eldar’s success was a big surprise to the dance world. He was the first ever couple representing Azerbaijan to make a Final at such a prestigious dancing competition. Together with his partner and now wife Anna Sazhina Eldar successfully continues his Ballroom dancing and coaching career.
