Smooth combines the elegance and technique of the International Standard programme with grace, freedom of expression and flowing movement, enriched by influences from Latin dance, jazz, modern dance and ballet.
Smooth is one of Europe’s fastest-growing dance styles and is attracting strong interest from professionals.

The Story of SRDS
SRDS brings together Olga Krasnyanskaya’s invaluable ten years of experience and Eldar Dzhafarov’s twenty years of professional experience in dance.
Olga is a two-time Blackpool Festival Smooth champion in the Pro-Am category, a World Show Dance Champion and the winner of many international Pro-Am competitions. Olga Krasnyanskaya chairs the RTS American Smooth committee.
Eldar is a World and European Professional Ten Dance Champion, a World Professional Ballroom Show Dance Champion and the winner of many international amateur and professional competitions.
History of Smooth Worldwide
Smooth is a ballroom style comprising four dances—Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz—danced in that order. Its freedom and artistry allow dancers to express a distinctive individual style.
Its technique is grounded in the International Standard programme, while the interaction between partners shares qualities with the Latin programme.
Smooth also uses a wide variety of positions, creating freedom in performance. Moving fluidly from one position to another is one of the style’s key technical skills.
