SRDS Ranking Regulations
Dance couples and soloists of the “Smooth” direction

1. General provisions.

  • 1.1. The rating is calculated for dance couples in the categories Juveniles, Juniors, Adults, Professionals, Seniors who have entered the SRDS rating system, taking part in sporting events in the “Smooth” direction, organized and conducted directly by SRDS or with the participation of SRDS.

  • 1.2. To be included in the SRDS rating system, each dancer must have an active status in the SRDS database or have a valid cooperation agreement with SRDS (agreement in the appendix), as well as pay entrance and annual fees to SRDS in the manner and on the terms additionally agreed upon by the Parties.

  • 1.3. The objectives of the rating are:

    • 1.3.1. popularization of the dance direction “Smooth”, as a mass dance direction, as well as a sport of high achievements;

    • 1.3.2. encouraging the participation of dance couples in major regional, national and international competitions;

    • 1.3.3. development of friendly, sports and creative ties with dance organizations in Russian regions and international organizations;

    • 1.3.4. determination of the best couples of the season in the dance direction “Smooth”;

    • 1.3.5. improving the performance skills of dancers.

  • 1.4. The rating includes events that took place during the dance season from August of the current year to July inclusive of the next year. The results of the dance season are summed up, the dance season rating is published and dance couples are awarded no later than December 30.

  • 1.5. A dancing couple or soloist is excluded from the rating, and the awarded points are canceled in the following cases:

    • 1.5.1. termination of cooperation with “SRDS” by any member of the dance couple or soloist;

    • 1.5.2. cessation of dance and sports activities of a couple or soloist;

2. Rules for calculating the rating.

  • 2.1. Ratings are calculated for couples and soloists under the “Smooth” program only if the tournament is an SRDS rating tournament and is on the competition schedule.

  • 2.2. When calculating the rating, the rules of this “Regulation” and other regulatory documents must be observed.

3. Formula for calculating the rating of a pair.

The rating is calculated using the formula:

R = M1 + M2 + … + Mn,

Where:

M – success (number of points), n – number of competitions.

M = P + K,

Where:

P – points determined according to the following rules.

Dance couples or soloists taking part in the event automatically receive 1 (One) point. The maximum number of points depends on the number of participants (pairs or soloists) participating in the tournament. If 10 (Ten) couples or soloists took part in the competition, the maximum number of points awarded can be 10 (Ten). Points are awarded to couples in accordance with the place that the couple or soloist took in the tournament. The higher the place, the more points are awarded.

K – tournament coefficient, determined according to the SRDS rules.

K=1 for tournaments included in the SRDS rating;

K=2 for tournaments included in the SRDS rating, international, held outside the Russian Federation with the participation of both Russian and foreign dance couples;

K=3 for tournaments included in the SRDS rating, official championships of Russia, Europe and the World, SUPER TROPHY, as well as Blackpool Dance Festival, UK Dance Festival, International Dance Festival.

R is calculated after each qualifying tournament.

4. Bonus fund.

  • 4.1. The bonus fund is formed from SRDS’s own and borrowed funds and is distributed only to participants in the Super Trophy Series rating.

  • 4.2. The distribution of the bonus fund is carried out according to the decision of the governing body of SRDS.

  • 4.3. Unless otherwise decided by the governing body of SRDS, the bonus fund is distributed as follows:

5. SRDS Membership

  • 5.1. Entry fee (Annual fee) participant - 990 rubles (RF)

  • 5.2. Entry fee (Annual fee) teacher/judge - 4900 rubles (RF)

  • 5.3. accreditation to conduct SRDS SUPER TROPHY RANKING EVENT - 10,000 rubles (RF)

  • 5.4. accreditation to conduct SRDS SOLO SMOOTH ® - 10,000 rubles (RF)

  • Signed agreement (see appendix).

6. Final provisions.

  • 6.1. All information about the rating of couples is open and presented on the website srdsrussia.com.

  • 6.2. All controversial issues are resolved based on an official written statement from the dance couple’s coach or soloist, or the couple or soloist themselves.

  • The completed cooperation agreement with SRDS must be submitted to the SRDS office (Moscow, Bolshie Kamenshchiki Street, 8) and signed by the parties in personal presence.

Rules of participation and counting  SRDS SOLO SMOOTH SUPER TROPHY results

1. General provisions

  • SRDS SOLO SMOOTH SUPER TROPHY is the annual SRDS trophy in the Solo Smooth discipline, awarded at the end of the calendar year.
  •  The rating is calculated once - at the end of the calendar year. The awards ceremony takes place in December of this year.

2. Mandatory condition for admission to competition for the award

  • There are 10 SRDS Solo Smooth ranking tournaments held throughout the year.
  • In order for a dancer to be eligible to compete for the SRDS SOLO SMOOTH SUPER TROPHY, he must take part in at least 7 out of 10 tournaments.
  • Dancers who took part in less than 7 tournaments are not allowed into the final standings, regardless of the results.
  • Participation in two age categories within one tournament does not equate to participation in two tournaments. The fact of participation in the tournament itself is taken into account, and not the number of categories within it.

3. Age categories and principle of selection

3.1. At each tournament the dancer chooses:

  • your current age category, or
  • age category one level higher.

3.2. The fact of participation in the age category is recorded when registering for the tournament.

3.3. At the end of the year, a dancer can be awarded only in one age category. It is not possible to receive an award in two age categories at the same time.

4. Determination of the final age category

  • The final age category is determined by the number of tournaments in which the dancer participated in the same age category.
  • If a dancer took part in at least 4 tournaments (out of a mandatory 7) in one age category, and then moved to the next age category by date of birth, then the award is awarded in the first age category in which 4 or more tournaments were scored.

5. Coefficient system

To calculate the final result, the following system is used:

  • 5.1. Main age category

Participation in the tournament in your age category is taken into account with a coefficient of ×3.

  • 5.2. Participation by age older

Participation in the tournament in the older age category is taken into account with a coefficient of ×1.

6. Moving to the next age category

6.1. When a dancer moves to the next age category by date of birth:

  • the main account in the new category starts from zero;
  • participation in tournaments of a new category is taken into account with a coefficient of ×3;
  • all results obtained before the transition are not canceled.

6.2. Results scored in the non-main age category at the end of the year:

  • divided in half (50% of the points scored),
  • are transferred as a bonus to the final rating of the main age category.

7. Final score and calculation procedure

7.1. The final rating is formed at the end of the calendar year and is based on:

  • total number of tournaments (minimum 7 out of 10),
  • applied coefficients,
  • adjustment of points of a non-main category (halving and transfer by bonus),
  • compliance with the age principle for determining the main category.

7.2. Only tournaments as independent rating events are taken into account in the final standings. The number of declared categories within one tournament does not affect the number of qualifying tournaments.

8. Awards

8.1. The award ceremony takes place:

  • one age category for each dancer,
  • in December of this year.

8.2. SRDS SOLO SMOOTH SUPER TROPHY is awarded to dancers who have fulfilled all admission conditions and received the most rating points at the end of the year.

8.3. Premium Fund.

  • The bonus fund is formed from SRDS’s own and borrowed funds and is distributed only to participants in the Super Trophy Series rating.
  • The distribution of the bonus fund is carried out according to the decision of the governing body of SRDS.
  • Unless otherwise decided by the governing body of SRDS, the bonus fund is distributed as follows:
