Russian American Smooth Cup in Yekaterinburg

On October 21, the Russian American Smooth Cup, organized by SRDS, took place in Yekaterinburg as part of the Ural Dance Cup competition.

6 professional couples from all over Russia took part in the tournament. All participants appreciated the warm atmosphere of the tournament and good organization. Separately, it is worth noting the stellar panel of judges, who impartially assessed the Russian duets - Peter Perzhu, Luca Tonello, Alessio Potenziani, Eldar Dzhafarov, Aleksey Zakharin, Valeria Bushueva, Sergey Mikheev, Irina Garus, Natalya Smirnova.

The places were distributed as follows:

1st place - Alexey Polovnikov and Olga Shcherbina (Moscow, Russia)

2nd place - Artem Merenkov and Tatyana Merenkova (Moscow, Russia)

3rd place - Vitaly Matusyak and Anastasia Kryukova (Ekaterinburg, Russia)

4th place - Ivan Bagaev and Yuliana Voloshina (St.-Petersburg, Russia)

5th place - Evgeny Grinin and Olga Morozova (Moscow, Russia)

6th place - Alexey Shershnev and Polina Khamova (Chelyabinsk, Russia)

All judges noted the good level of preparation of the tournament participants. “In such a short time, the level of Russian couples has become so high that they are worthy competition for TOP professional American duets. I wish success to the couples at the Russian Championship in the Kremlin and once again congratulate the winners of the Russian Cup. Excellent result!” commented Peter Perzhu.
