In December 2018, a wonderful event took place at the World Trade Center - the Open International Pro Am competition Moscow Ball 2018. Moscow Ball is one of the best tournaments on the eve of the New Year, which, in turn, absolutely corresponds to a magical holiday, reminiscent of the Ball with its scenography, music, number of participants, brightness of show numbers and, of course, surprises, which in turn emphasize the attention of the organizers to participants and friends.

As part of the Moscow Ball competition, for the first time an international American Smooth tournament was held among professional couples, organized by the SRDS company.

The tournament began with the semi-finals, in which 9 couples took part. Three couples representing Russia and three couples from the USA reached the finals. The finale was very spectacular! A fierce struggle for first place and an unexpected final result for American Smooth fans - the couple Yegor Novikov & Alexandra Smirmova beat the current champions Nick Cheremukhin & Viktorija and took first place. The places in the finals were distributed as follows:

1st place – Yegor Novikov – Alexandra Smirmova (USA)
2nd place – Nick Cheremukhin – Viktorija Barasihina (USA)
3rd place – Aleksandr Vukosavljevic – Nevena Urosevic (USA)
4th place – Alexey Polovnikov – Olga Scherbina (Russia)
5th place – Vitaliy Matusyak – Anastasia Kriukova (Russia)
6th place – Artem Bronnikov – Daria Bronnikova (Russia)

At the end of the tournament, a two-day American Smooth Congress was held at the GallaDance WTC Dance Club, where real professionals in their field shared their knowledge and experience. Lectures and individual lessons were given by Michel Mead, Nick Cheremukhin and Viktorija.

The SRDS company is very pleased, proud and grateful that the new direction in ballroom dancing “Smus” was once again presented within the framework of the project and, in turn, wants to once again emphasize the high professionalism, flexibility and creativity of the entire team of Alexey Mindel and Olga Panchenko.
